About the Role

The core function of the Academic Team Intern is to work alongside the Academic Team to ensure the quality of our instructional materials. Our videos, lesson plans, documents, practice problems, and assessments are used tens of thousands of times daily, and it is critical that the teachers and students who count on LearnZillion have an high quality and rewarding experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the creation and improvement of teacher and student-facing instructional materials such as videos, documents, and presentation slides, including supporting the artistic design of the materials
  • Ensure the quality of all instructional materials by reviewing, repairing, revising, and editing videos, documents, images, and presentation slides
  • Support the academic team in improving production quality and processes over the long term
  • Review site content proactively to identify areas for improvement

Basic Qualifications

  • Passion for improving public education
  • Experience with Google Suite products Docs, Slides, and Sheets (advanced Slides and Sheets experiences preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • “Whatever it takes” attitude
  • Team player
  • Hunger to learn new skills
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating graphics and images
  • Experience creating screencasts
  • Experience editing video using software such as Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, or similar

This is a paid internship is for 40 hours per week from June-August, with the possibility to extend beyond, in the LearnZillion office in Washington, DC.
